Jackson County High School is set to bring back business pathways for its CTE program this year.
Director of Schools Jason Hardy said this comes as a result of a new teacher position in the courses. He said it will bring a plethora of opportunities to the high school students to explore different career options.
“We’re going to be able to introduce those original classes and expand to about four different paths in the business whether it’s in healthcare, whether it’s in human resources,” Hardy said. “So it’s just more opportunities for our kids. And a lot of our opportunities come through TCAT and we love those opportunities, but this gives us a chance to have it in Jackson County High School with an actual Jackson County High School teacher teaching.”
Hardy said the school previously had similar course opportunities, but the instructor had left. He said for whatever reason, a business instructor is hard to find.
Hardy said this course will start immediately with introductory coursework this semester and gradually expand as students move up in the levels. He said the school is extremely excited to bring this back for JCHS.
