A memorial service for Kaleen Emlee Fahrner, 72 of Cookeville, will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Presley Funeral Home with the Eddy Turner officiating. She died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born Monday, June 5, 1950 in Bay City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late William Ervin LeMere and the late Catherine Bowden LeMere. She was the wife of Ronald Fahrner. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Presley Funeral Home.
A Funeral service for Billy Gene Curtsinger, 64 of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Fabron Nicholson officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He passed away on June 16, 2023. Born Friday, December 19, 1958 in Visalia, California, he was the son of the late Samuel Curtsinger and Dois Spencer Curtsinger. Mr. Bill was one of a kind. He loved his family more than anything in this world. He loved to hunt, fish, and ride his motorcycle. He would help anyone who needed help. He was a happy go lucky and a joy to be around, always trying to make someone laugh. He was a character. He loved playing practical jokes on his friends. He was one hard working man. Mechanic by trade and could fix anything from automotive to tractors. He was deeply loved and we were blessed to have him in our lives. He will be truly be missed beyond words!! He is survived by his wife: Renee Sills Curtsinger; Sons: Ron and wife Kim Reading, Billy Curtsinger II; Brothers: Ron, Mark, and Terry; Sister: Lucille; Grandchildren: Stephanie Hawkins, Tiffanie Hawkins, Paige, Vanatta, and Bentley Gentry; Great grandchildren: Kyson, Khloie, Kaylie, Jaxson, Libby, Shelbie and Kenzlie. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to until time of service on Friday, June 23, 2023.
Funeral services for Jeanette Loftis Conner, 73 of the Sugar Creek community in Gainesboro, will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. James Bybee and Bro. Randy Bybee officiating. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. She was born January 29, 1950, in Jackson County, and she passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Morgan Laborn Loftis and Anna Jewell Loftis. On July 28, 1972, she was married to Kenneth Conner, who survives. She was a program assistant at USDA, a resident of the Sugar Creek community, and a member of the Sugar Creek Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Brother: Lewis Loftis; Brothers-in-law: Tom Stockton and Carlos Cook; and Sister-in-law: Sandy Loftis. Survivors include her Husband: Kenneth Conner of Gainesboro; Sons: Jonathan (Heather) Conner of Cookeville, and Clint (Samantha) Conner of Cookeville; Brothers: Lloyd (Sue) Loftis of Cookeville, Lee Loftis of Sterling, VA, Ray (Paulette) Loftis of Livonia, MI, and Ronnie (Kay) Loftis of Bloomington Springs; Sisters: Ina Jean Stockton of Clinton Township, MI, and Myra Cook of Sterling Heights, MI; and Grandchildren: Bryce (Tiara) Conner, Jackson (Jenna) Conner, Payton Conner, Macee Conner, Ella Conner, Aliyah Conner, and Layna Conner. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Friday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society by contacting the funeral home.

Mrs. Way was born on October 6, 1922, in Monterey, to the late Will J. and Mildred Ford Vanderpool. Mrs. Way passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Way was a homemaker. She was a member of Monterey Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry and Bobby Sprowl of Moraine, OH, Linda Gunter of Monterey; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Eddy and Betty Way of Monterey, Ricky and Karen Way of Monterey, Charlie and Denette Way of Monterey, Randy Way of Monterey; 13 grandchildren, Vickie (Steve) Lewis, Dwane Sprowl (Paula), Chrissy (Ken) Finley, Mary (Danny) Holmes, Jimmy (Kim) Way, Derek Gunter, Samantha Way (Justin), Tyler Way, Trevor Way, Carli Way, Aubree Way (Shawn Jackson), Breeauna (Larry) Lee, and Kylie (Alston) Flowers; 19 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild due in October; And a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ray Way, infant daughter, Katherine Way; great grandson, Ethan Way; sisters, Marie Phipps, Lucille Tinch, Beulah Miller, and Katie Duncan; and brother, Harvey Vanderpool. Funeral services for Mr. Robert Harold Prater, Sr., better known as Bobby, age 73 of Sparta, will be conducted 3:00pm Friday, June 23, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Rose Chapel Cemetery. Bobby went to be with the Lord at 9:03am Tuesday morning, June 20, 2023 in the ER of St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. Bobby was born December 28, 1949 in Sparta to the late Johnny M. and Thelma Ray Hodge Prater. He was an iron worker and had a long career in construction either for his own construction company or 20 plus years with J&S Construction. In addition to his construction work, he was a lifelong farmer. Bobby was a devout, God fearing Christian. He served as a deacon at Ole Bethel, Grace and Freedom Baptist Churches. He was a loving husband and a wonderful daddy to his children and Papa to his grandchildren. His happiest times were spent with all of his family being together. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother James E. Prater. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Janis Brown Prater; Son: Robby Prater; Daughter: Kim Eller and husband Todd; Son: Sam Prater and wife Meghan; Grandchildren: Kalab, Katie, Lexi, Brayden and AnaBelle. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Melton age 78 of Allons, will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston, with interment to follow in the Mabry – Melton Cemetery in Allons. He passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, June 20, 2023 in the Willow Grove Community of Clay Co. Murl was born in Whitewright, TX on August 19, 1944 to the late James Curtis and Mazzie Pearl Melton. Murl was a Vietnam Era Veteran. Survivors: His loving wife of 55 years Anna Grace McDonald Melton; Daughter: Heather Melton; Son: Michael Shane Melton and wife Melissa; Ex Son-In-Law: Ray Hammock; Brother: Sam Melton; Sisters: Bea Hamilton, Donna Silbert, and Linda Sells; 4 Grandchildren: Megan Herren, Adrienne Hammock, Savannah Hammock, and Azekial Melton; 7 Great Grandchildren: Lillian Hammock, Ezra Herren, Ellie, Chloe, and Jaxson Booher, Dakota Smith, and Clayton White. Preceded in death by: In addition to his parents; Brothers and Sisters: J.P. Melton, Charles Melton, Mary Stallcup, Edna Kidd, Joyce Catron, Geneva Burris, Robert Melton, Glenda Garrett, and David (Dog) Melton; and 2 Great Grandchildren. Graveside Services for Mrs. Judy Lane Parrigin, age 73 of Livingston, will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, June 24th, from Flat Creek Cemetery. Bro. Jason Robertson will officiate. Mrs. Parrigin passed from this life on June 16, 2023, from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 21, 1949, to the late Daniel and Deloris Bice Sandlin. Mrs. Parrigin loved spending time with her family, who were her main joy in life. She was very devoted to Daniel and David. Judy enjoyed sewing and crafts, and she always found hard work to be very fulfilling. Mrs. Parrigin leaves behind her son Michael Parrigin and wife Amy of Livingston; grandsons Nathan Harvey, Jacob Parrigin, Jonathan Harvey, Jeremiah Parrigin, Joseph Parrigin, David Parrigin, and Daniel Parrigin all of Livingston; granddaughter Mariah Harvey Craynon and husband Brady of Morris, Minnesota; brothers Jerry Sandlin and John Seals both of Michigan; and sisters Ellie Seals and Angel Seals both of Detroit, Michigan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parrigin was preceded in death by her husband Michael Parrigin, daughter Shannon Harvey, and grandson Jesse Parrigin. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.
A memorial service for Regina Ruth (Lambert) Mayberry, 88, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at 1 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home, with Brother Kevin Daughrity officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Regina passed peacefully at her home Tuesday, June 20th. Regina was born August 3, 1934, in Michigan, to the late Oplis Smith Lambert and Lizzie Mae (Meadows) Lambert. She met the love of her life, James Lee Mayberry, while working for Cookeville’s Bennett Roofing, soon after they wed. James enlisted in the Navy and made a career as an air traffic controller. Regina was a devoted military wife, she made Newfoundland, Cuba, Virginia Beach, Pensacola, and Texas her home. They raised four children, Roberta, James, Aubrey, and Ronnie. In 1975 Regina’s spouse retired from the Navy and relocated the family to the Mayberry farm in north Putnam County, where they spent the rest of their lives. Regina embraced the farm life with a passion for gardening, home-cooked meals, and her flower beds. In her later years, she took great pleasure in watching football and the birds, deer, and squirrels that gathered at her front door feeders. Regina was a doting grandmother to Shavonne, Poppy, and Sunny. Four caregivers blessed her life in her final years. She so looked forward to her Thursday hair appointments and special lunches. Regina was a long-time member of the Sycamore Church of Christ. Regina was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Mayberry, brothers Dee and Junior Lambert, and sister Lorena Lambert. Surviving are her children Roberta(Bill) Love, James (Wendy) Mayberry, Aubrey (Camille) Mayberry, Ronnie(Donna) Irwin, grandchildren Shavonne Hutchings, Poppy Fliss-Mayberry, and Sunny Fliss-Mayberry. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 24th from 11-1pm at the funeral home.

He died on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Born Tuesday, January 3, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Williard Agee and the late Florence Gase Agee. He was a Veteran of Korea. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.
