Obituaries For Thursday, July 14

Mr. Donald Ray (Stacy) Reeves, age 79 of Sparta, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Aaron Martin, age 75 of Allons, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Health & Rehab in Celina. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date. Mr. Martin was born April 12, 1947, in Junction IL, the son of the late Arvel Leston and Arene Savage Martin.  Aaron lived for sports, from playing softball to bowling, the Green Bay Packers was his favorite football team.  He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, and college basketball. His greatest joy was his family.  Survivors include his wife, Carla Strickland Martin, of Allons; a daughter, Shana (Jeff) Vine of Sugar Grove, IL; two sons, Slade (Kim) Martin of DeKalb, IL, and Stayson (Shannon) Martin of Dubuque, IA; three stepdaughters, Carla (David) Cook and Jennie (Majes Seward, both of Sandwich, IL, and Peggy (Michael) Dye of Kansas City, KS.

Mrs. Krystal Gail Abbott, age 44 of Livingston, passed away Monday, July 12, 2022, at Livingston Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Abbott was born June 26, 1978, in Anderson, IN, the daughter of Linda Choate Phillips of Celina. She was Baptist in faith. In addition to her mother, survivors include two sons, Joseph Abbott and Christopher Abbott, both of Livingston; two daughters, Cheyenne Davis and fiancé Devon Proffitt of Livingston and Jessica Davis and fiancé Devin Obenshain of Gainesboro. Memorial donations may be made to the family by contacting Speck Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Cox, age 57 of the Old Union community, will be held Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Turkey Town Cemetery. Mr. Cox passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his residence. He was born January 27, 1965, in Jackson County, the son of the late Lester and Velma Mace Cox. Bob was known for his good auto mechanic work, and he enjoyed doing it. Survivors include his significant other, Sharon Evins of Hilham; a son, Jamey (Charity) Key of Livingston. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a son, Casey Cox. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services for Mr. Michael Wayne Thompson, age 72 of Byrdstown, will be held Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 p.m., at Brown Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lovelady-Sims Cemetery. Mr. Thompson passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Nashville. He was born November 9, 1949, in New Castle, IN, the son of the late Roy Stanley Thompson and Willie Belle (Beaty) Thompson. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Army, a roofer for 17 years, an insulation contractor for 28 years, a farmer and local businessman. Survivors include two sons, Chris (Crystal) Thompson and Tyler (Rachel) Thompson; a daughter, Molly (Justin) Maxwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Faye (Lee) Thompson. Visitation will be held Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Linda Faye Hawkins Savage, age 48 of Livingston, will be held Saturday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Graveside services will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, followed by the Repass (food) at First Christian Church in Livingston. Mrs. Savage passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1973, the daughter of the late Jackie Hawkins and Pauline Reyes. She grew up in Cookeville, where she attended and graduated from Cookeville High School. Linda later studied in Nashville and worked in food service for many years. Linda gave her life to Christ and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, where she became secretary of the Bible class and later received a diploma from the Bible Prophecy Class. Survivors include her husband, Troy Savage; two daughters, Saneisa Savage and Lakeisha (Stacy) Darty; one son, Matt Darty; stepmother, Faye Smith. Visitation will be held Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

A memorial service for Mr. Richard Percy White, age 84 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 21, at 12:00 p.m. at Stevens Street Baptist Church. Mr. White passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, at his home. He  was born April 23, 1938, in Nashville, the son of the late Harold and Christine White. He served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960 aboard the U.S.S. Warrick. During his service, he was on the Navy Boxing Team and received the Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal. Richard owned several small businesses and also worked at the Nashville Ford Glass Plant. He attended Stevens Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Beverly Swafford White; two sons, Jesse Dean (Debbie) White and Harold Bryant (Susan) White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jesse Todd White. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 21, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
