6 UC Counties Over 100 COVID Cases

Six Upper Cumberland Counties reported triple digit COVID-19 cases Tuesday.

The State Department Of Health reported Putnam County with 417 cases. That includes a 13 percent positivity rate. Cookeville Regional Medical Center reports 59 COVID patients being treated as of Tuesday. A Putnam County resident also passed away Monday.

Putnam joins Cumberland, Dekalb, Smith, Warren and White with more than 100 cases. Cumberland County reports 336 positive cases with 271 in Warren and 225 in White. Dekalb County shows 193 active cases with 134 in Smith County.

Five Upper Cumberland counties reported a 20 percent positivity rate as of Tuesday including Dekalb, Jackson, Van Buren, Warren and White counties.

Extended testing was available Monday in the aftermath of the Thanksgiving holiday.
