Solar Grid Opened Thursday

Officials gathered at the Highland Business park Thursday to power up a new solar array.

Putnam County Executive Randy Porter said the solar array will generate electricity for the Cookeville electric grid.

Restoration Services Inc., partnered with Vis Solis Inc. and the TVA, Highlands Business Park, Putnam County and the city of Cookeville.

Porter said the project was free for the city and county, but both will share in revenue from the project.
