Smith County Rescue Squad Locates Missing Hikers Sunday

Smith County Rescue Squad members helped locate a woman and her three children Sunday after they became lost while hiking on Bearwaller Gap Trail in Defeated.

Officials said the family had wondered off the trail and failed to make their way back before the sun went down. Crews managed to located the family and used a rope system to pull them up a steep embankment.

They did not suffer any injuries.
