Mariota Speaks At Schools, Donates To Football Programs

Marcus Mariota spoke at three Upper Cumberland high schools Tuesday.

The Tennessee Titans quarterback spoke to enthusiastic crowds in Sparta, Smithville and McMinnville.

He also donated to the football programs at White County High and DeKalb County high. Mariota made $5,000 donations at each of the schools, the NFL Foundation will match the donations.

White County High gave Mariota a custom, hand-thrown mug with the Titans and Oregon Ducks logos on it. DeKalb County High gave Mariota his own Tigers T-shirt. McMinnville Mayor Jimmy Haley gave Mariota a proclamation declaring Tuesday Marcus Mariota Day in the city.

The events were organized by St. Thomas Health, which operates hospitals in Sparta, McMinnville and Smithville.
