The Farm Service Agency election process has begun.
Agent Chad Huddleston said the nomination period for the FSA county committee is open until August 1.
Interested persons must live in White, Putnam or Van Buren county, participate in an FSA program, and be able to vote in the county committee election.
Elected county committee members serve a three-year term and are responsible for making decisions on FSA disaster, conservation, commodity and price support programs, as well as other important federal farm program issues. County committees consist of three to 11 members.
Nomination forms and more information can be picked up at the FSA office or online at www.fsa.usda.gov/elections.
