Donating Blood Easy, Free Way To Help Hurricane Victims

Blood Assurance Donor Recruiter Trudy Cody said donating blood is a easy and free way to help hurricane victims.

“You can donate, you can give money, certainly and that helps, but the only way to give blood is to be a donor. We appreciate everyone who helps, everybody helps,” Cody said.

Blood Assurance began sending blood to two centers in Texas shortly after Hurricane Harvey hit.

Blood drives have been organized across the area. TTU’s Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity will have a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19. Saint Thomas DeKalb County Hospital will have one the following week from 1-4 p.m.Monday, Sept. 25.

Anyone can stop by Blood Assurance on Broad Street from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
