Boyd Taking Many Property Calls

Putnam County Director of Schools Jerry Boyd said he’s taking many calls suggesting property for the proposed elementary school.

The board voted last week to approve a plan to sell Park View Elementary to the city of Cookeville to build a new police station.

That plan requires building a school to replace Park View in the southwestern section of Putnam County.

Boyd said he’s taken lots of calls, not just about properties in Cookeville but all over the county. He said knowledge of properties helped him and the board with long-range planning.

Boyd told the board he hoped to have a property for their evaluation by the next board meeting on June 1.
