Monterey Woman Facing Charges Following I-40 Crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested a Monterey woman following a Wednesday afternoon crash on Interstate 40. Charges against 34-year-old Miranda Watkins include DUI, implied consent, exercise of due care, and financial responsibility. Lovejoy Train Derailment 100-Years Ago Wednesday

100-years ago Wednesday a coal train bound for Monterey derailed and killed two men. Wreck investigators partially blamed the derailment on a passenger train from the afternoon before. New Mexico Man Sentenced In Fatal 2017 Crash

A Putnam County judge sentenced a New Mexico man to prison Monday for charges stemming from a 2017 crash that killed a 5-year-old boy. 22-year-old Richard Collins will spend seven years behind bars for his vehicular homicide by recklessness conviction. A single-vehicle crash injured two elderly residents in Cumberland County Tuesday afternoon. A medical helicopter airlifted 73-year-old Patricia Guthrie to U.T. Medical Center for treatment.
